Celebrate an Allergy-Friendly Halloween!

Did you know...

…that much of the candy given out to trick-or-treaters contains top 9 food allergens?

Unfortunately, Halloween can be scary for the 1 in 13 kids who have food allergies – and not in the fun, festive way.

This is why the Teal Pumpkin Project encourages people to offer non-food treats for trick-or-treaters and make Halloween safe and fun for everyone!

What is the Teal Pumpkin Project?

The Teal Pumpkin Project is a national campaign started by the Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) in 2014. Now, in its 10th year of national campaigning, over 16,000 households have participated!

The project encourages households to place a teal pumpkin on their porch or in their window to signify that they hand out allergen-free or non-food treats to children with allergies. You can paint a pumpkin teal, buy a teal pumpkin at any major retailer, or place a sign or window cling in your window!

What Should I Give as a Teal Pumpkin Treat?

There are so many different allergen-free treats you can give to trick-or-treaters! Here are just a few ideas from FARE.
